Before this course, I had just started building a new business. Building a new business is scary. I was hoping to gain some tools to be kind to myself, while at the same time learning about myself so that I could walk down this new business path as bravely as possible. The biggest thing I learned from this class was to be with my feelings. Through practice, I learned what emotions I pushed away instead of honoring them and what they were trying to tell me. When I did sit with them, I had the tools Jennifer taught me to stay grounded and in a safe place so I could experience the feelings. I also learned to have compassion for my inner critic which is just trying to keep me safe. Now I catch myself when I’m starting to go off the rails. I stop to breathe and become present in the moment. I quiet down so that whatever is going on inside me can have it’s voice. Often it is the avoidance of a thought or feeling or situation or memory that is pushing me into anxiety and out of control behavior. This is an excellent class for anyone who wants to learn the tools of self-observation and self-reflection. These tools are vital in the self-healing journey. And if you already have these tools, this course will take you deeper into your journey of self-discovery and healing. I’m grateful to Jennifer for sharing her gifts with me.
